The physical expansion of the Centre meant losing some of the surface car parking spaces, necessitating the construction of a multi-storey car parking structure and a change from Pay & Display parking controls to an automated Pay-on-Foot barrier-controlled site.
The decision to select the Amano range, supplied and installed by MF Services, was explained by Euro Car Parks MD, David Cullen “Our primary considerations when selecting the Amano Pay on Foot system were capital and maintenance costs, together with service backup. The Frascati Centre is a busy car park, handling over 1,000 per day and therefore must have a robust system that is easy to operate by its large customer base.”
Of primary importance to the parking operation was its ease of use for the wide range of customer types using this busy town-centre shopping venue. “Customers appreciate the ease of use and in particular comment on the user friendliness of the pay stations” said David Cullen.
Euro Car Parks staff on site stated, “We find the barcode ticket system to be advantageous as the number of damaged tickets is far less than with magnetic stripe cards. Performance and reliability have been key and we have had no down time at all since installation”
With a significant amount of equipment installed i.e. 8 lanes and 6 paystations, it is testament to support and reliability that Liam Foy of MF Services reports “Average individual device uptime in excess of 99%. The installation of Amano equipment in Frascati Shopping Centre proves MF Services ability to provide parking equipment in a high footfall retail environment.”
